Emily Blunt is barely recognizable in this New York Times Style Magazine article, but it's an interesting look. She's (supposedly. Most often the products used in photo shoots are mixed and blended from more than one source to achieve a certain effect) wearing Chanel Rouge Hydrabase Creme lipstick in Fire.

Later today I'll post a review of another red lipstick. In the mean time: What do you think of this look? And the eyebrows?

I just don't know about the eyebrows. I love the red, though. But the eyebrows...maybe it's because I'm old enough to remember when they were popular in the 80s? I don't know.
ReplyDeleteI honestly think she looks a lot like Kate Winslet in these.. But that is always positive. ;) I like it.
ReplyDeleteThe eyebrows made me think of Spencer Tracy in "The Old Man and the Sea".
ReplyDeleteI've always thought Emily was just gorgeous and I love this look - brows, lips and all - she looks stunning (albeit, sure, a bit "manufactured"). xo
ReplyDeleteI like the bushy brows, I LOVE the plastic poppy dress, but I hate Emily Blunt.
ReplyDeletei love photoshop. wish it were something you could actually walk around in.
ReplyDeleteshe does look like kate winslet. and i like red and the brows - but only because of the impossibly high contrast with her complexion. but the whole thing has been so heavily tweaked, it is impossible to tell what the lipstick really looks like in real life. - minette
I like the brows. They remind me of my own, in their untamed state about ten years ago :)
ReplyDeleteMeredith- I'm totally with you. Red=goog. Bushy eyebrows=not so much.
ReplyDeleteLéah- I haven't thought of it, but there is some Winslet vibe. She's very pretty, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteEdwardian- That's the funniest thing I've read this week.
ReplyDeleteRoxy- I think my biggest problem with the bushy brows is that I spend time taming mine to make sure they don't end up like that. Facial hair is tricky ;)
ReplyDeleteMandy- the dress is pure cuteness, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteMinette- You're 100% right about this. That's probably my biggest issue with the photo shott, as much as I love the clothes, styling and Emily herself. It just doesn't look real.
ReplyDeleteMukho- We've all been there, pre-Tweezerman.
ReplyDeleteThe look isn't bad but the eyebrows need to go-
ReplyDeleteit looks as if they took her thin brows and brushed them straight up, gelled them and filled in the gaps with brown pencil to get a Crawford effect.
Sadly, the end result is a little more Broderick than Joan...
Methinks Edwardian and Spencer Tarcy have some serious competition now that Tom has brought the Crawfords out...
