Is she always that bony, or do the shoulders throw off my perception!?
OMG. You're so right about the 1983 Bar Mitzvah dress. I was there.
Brunettes do look great in emerald green, though. I will never forget when Angelica Houston wore a vivid green dress to the Oscars. She blew away all those blondes in pink and white.Calypso
ooof.It were only a long dress it might have been okay. Sort of. Nice color though.
Oy, speaking of bar mitzvah - that is NOT a good look, and never was. I love the color too, but no shoulder pads please! And JC was not always that skinny, she looked much better when she had a softer look - not that she ever had any extra weight to lose, she was perfectly fine. I guess the rawhide-and-string look is de rigeur for actors now.
The color is great, but you're right -- those shoulders are too much. Alexander McQueen is pushing the sharp, padded shoulder look, as well, and it makes the wearer look like a great big fashion victim. It would have been nicer to see some more length on the dress, too. Dear lord, what is she going to do when she sits down? That thing will . . . well, it won't be polite.
It is a beautiful color, but the texture makes it look like a leaf and the shoulders belong on a Golden Girl. I refuse to wear padded shoulders, ever. I call it the "linebacker look" and it's not one I aim for.~Amandahttp://onehappypanda.blogspot.com
i want to love it, but i just... can't. i think the only time i like a bit of shoulder pads is oddly enough, with pants. like this: http://www.garancedore.fr/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/chloe4.jpg the neutral colors help, too... p.s. the word verification is "pantsme" which i find really funny for some reason.
You're all looking at the dress and missing the horrible gladiator-cum-prisoner sandals with enough hardware and crystal glitz to set off the airport security systems across two states. And with a nail polish to accentuate that whole point in case anyone missed it. What happened??Jennifer is a truly spectacular looking woman, but the legs are starting to look scrawny IMO. And yes, the shoulder pads don't help either! Not to mention the scalloped leaves-off-the-vine hem which is so after-lapsarian Eve at the Gates of the Garden of Eden....Three good things though: the great colour choice, the shiny hair and the understated but polished make-up.
