Emma Watson Cut Her Hair Off

I understand NYC August weather can make anyone do the craziest things, but I was still shocked to see Emma Watson's new cropped hair. She's a gorgeous young woman and even my old hairstyle from 1986 can't hurt her (though it destroyed my social life back then), but still, I don't think this is the best look for her.

What say you?

  1. Agreed. The pixie is an OK look for her, but I really loved her with long, flowing locks. She looked so youthful and carefree...exactly the way someone her age should look.

  2. My 19 y/o, who bears a resemblance to Emma Watson just did the same thing. I have no problem with short hair. But she also bleached it blonde. I cringe every time I look at her.

  3. Noooo! My heart is broken! How could she cut off all her beautiful hair!!

  4. I agree that it is not the best possible cut, but I think she wanted to try and put Hermione Granger behind her.

    Lawrence in Ohio.

  5. Personally, I think Emma is so cute that she could pull of pretty much any hair, but the photo is certainly not flattering. If it looks this dowdy all the time, then yes, that's a fail. ;)

  6. Love it. Hair grows back, and I applaud her for taking the risk and bucking the tyranny of long hair.

  7. Yeah, don't like. You have to have more of an edge to rock that, and features like a Pierrot doll (think old Winona Ryder.)

I cut off all my hair in 1986 too! What were we thinking? Was I just trying to escape the asymetrical haircut from 1985?

  8. I think she could rock the gamin look if she cut it a bit shorter, but her hair's too fine to have at that length, it just sticks up everywhere.

  9. I don't like it in that photo, but I LOVE that she cut it and to hell with whatever follows. She's 19, a success, and keeping herself classy and together. If she wants to cut her hair who am I to tell her not to?

  10. I suppose everyone feels like they need to make a drastic change from time to time. I can't say it grabs me personally but as long as she's happy with it.

  11. That's not a good photo. She looks ten years older.

But there's another black & white photo on Facebook where she's lovely with short hair. I've read some comments from boys who say she looks pretty.

  12. I'm seen a different photo with her new cut and it's a very gamine kind of look. Cute!

I think the one here on TNB is an unfortunate shot of her.

  14. I agree that that is an unflattering shot - she looks positively frumpy - but am still not convinced by the (much better) pic in Scent Hive's link.

When I had hair that short people used to call me "sonny", so I sensed it probably wasn't the best look for me.

  15. Another hot chick who decided she wanted to look like a guy. What a waste.
