Marion Cotillard Gets It All Wrong

Everyone has bad hair days, so I'll ignore the Courtney Love-inspired coiffure. The lipstick is too harsh (and looks too dry), but that can be a lighting problem. It's the dress that's unforgivable. Apparently you can go wrong even with Dior. Especially if you insist on pouring yourself into a gown two sizes too small.

  1. Eek! I love Marion Cotillard but what is with this dress? Geez, it's borderline scary. It makes her look cheap, which is sad because she usually looks so elegant.

  2. The boobs!! Frighteningly aggressive. Ready to pop. Does Marion think this look says, "I am an elegant, sexy woman"? Not so much. More like, "I'm ready for my mammogram."

  3. So much for the myth that French women are mistresses of effortless chic!

  4. What a mess! except for the shoes.

    What an unusual FAIL for Mlle Cotillard! Usually so chic, she actually looks a bit like Courtney Love in this outfit, with the hair and bad lipstick!

  5. That must be extremely stressful to wear! Constantly thinking "are my nipples showing?" or "oops, I raised my arms!" Who's her stylist? Fire him/her.

  6. "Silicone Valley" - how utterly wrong her décolletée looks.

  7. How does one walk out in a dress like that? It looks so painful, I'd be crying (aside from worrying I'd take out an eye when I finally exploded out of the dress)! I'm surprised a Dior dress can be so cheap-looking.

  8. Mais non! Didn't she look in a mirror? Why are we Americans always beating ourselves up over how chic the French are and how gauche we Americans are? I'm with you, Simone. So much for effortless French chic.

  9. I hate the dress too, but what's with the hair and makeup? It looks like she took a wrong turn on Zoe Deschanel and wound up at Katy Perry street.

    @Simone:
    "Mistresses": an excellent choice of word for the French women, if ever there was one (le mot juste, as they would say).

  10. Egad! What was she thinking?! I saw this picture the other day and couldn't believe my eyes - it's SO not her usual understated, elegant style. Just strange.

  11. What IS it with designers/stylists and breasts?? They seem unable to dress a woman any bigger than an A cup. The smooshed booby look is not sexy, imho. Doesn't it dawn on any of them that a bigger bust requires a bigger bodice? How hard can that be?

  12. Whoa. Double whoa. The lips overwhelm her face, and the boobs just look painful. Why do beautiful women feel the need to uglify themselves with overdone makeup and sleazy-looking clothes?

  13. I didn't think it was possible, clearly I'm wrong!

  14. She's certainly got her knockers, as my Dad would say!
