Book

Joyce Maynard- At Home In The World. The writer's memoir, juicy because of her relationship with J.D. Salinger.

Song
An album, actually. Elton John and Leon Russel- The Union.

Perfume
Today was the first one in a while I wasn't testing/wearing one of the Outlaw Perfumes. Wore Tom Ford Private Blend Tobacco Vanille.

Makeup
Blush. I'm on a serious pink cheek kick.

Frequently Worn Outfit/Item
Long DVF ruffled cashmere cardigan. Black.

Food/Drink
tea, pasta, grilled cheese... the usual.

Guilty Pleasure
Admiring some of my makeup brushes. Profound, I know.

Joy
A new camera.

Bane Of My Existence
My Droid is having charging issues and I'm not due for an upgrade yet. I've been pursuing the Verizon Wireless site, looking at the new(er) models and telling myself  "These are not the droids you are looking for". Yes, geek humor.

Anticipation
Oddly enough, the holidays.

Wishlist
A pair of ultra-fabulous flat black boots that are knee-high but designed with short women in mind. The Alexander McQueen pair, once I found them in my size turned out to be an inch too tall. They are still the most gorgeous thing.

Random Thought
I have quite a few, actually. Enough for a separate post. For now, I'll just say that the Outlaw Perfume Project has been quite mind-blowing. I don't want to ever forget what a real perfume smells like.

What are your current loves, recommendation and banes? Please share.

  1. I must ask -- do you get cedar from Tobacco Vanille? Inspired by your post, I dabbed some on (from a very generous decant-type sample received when purchasing at the Saks NYC Tom Ford counter; recommend them highly) and I get...hamster cage. No tobacco, no vanilla. That's why I didn't buy the bottle, and when I want tobacco vanilla I go for Chergui. Boo.

  2. Eke, sorry- no cedar here. Lots of honey and a Chergui-like hey and tobacco, but definitely no hamster cage.

  3. I always enjoy this theme of yours, very nice to check out the evolution of wants & desires from month to month.

I like the pink-blush kick. Any favorites? Ones to avoid?

I've been on a blush/skincare kick lately, maybe the dreary fall weather reminding me to tighten the screws a little. The impending cold makes me want rosy cheeks and a vibrant complexion. Just ordered Decleor Aromessence Neroli so looking forward to what that may do.

    All the best to you.

  4. Book: Just finished A Long Fatal Love Chase, it's going to the top of my favorites list. Tempest just won't let it go....

Perfume: L'Art di Gucci, I'm in heaven, so glad I found a bottle, both edt and edp BIG smile.

Makeup: Trying out a pink/berry blush by Bobbi Brown, Blushed is the color. Very nice, but need to refine the application technique. I'm not used to wearing pink blushes.

Food/Drink & Guilty Pleasure-Mexican hot chocolate, and my home made pumpkin spice muffins. My teenager is eating them by the dozen, just made a fresh batch, hoping one or two will be left by morning.

Joy: My rag doll kitty (Rocky) is at my feet, snoring with his kitty paws tucked around his nose, so adorable. His tummy seems to be better now, and for that I'm giving thanks.

Bane of my existence-this week, it's school administrators!

Wish List, mission accomplished! I am so happy that Chanel restocked Les Regards de Chanel.

Random thought: I'm seriously bummed Dzing was discontinued. I'm a fan of barnyard (that's what it smells like on me, anyway)
