My girl crush on Brooke Shields has been going strong for nearly 30 years. She's interesting, opinionated and always seems more real than the plastic figures surrounding her. The eyebrows don't hurt, either. She's attended quite a few high profile events in the last few weeks and you can see Brooke had her eye makeup done in three very different ways.
I'm not very fond of the heavy dark makeup she wore for 15th Annual Webby Awards at Hammerstein Ballroom last night in NYC. It's just too much and weighs Brooke's face down. Look at the contrast with the brightened not-quite nude eye from Sunday night's Tony Awards:
My favorite is Brooke's makeup from last month's amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS Gala at Hotel Du Cap in Antibes, France. The soft brown contour with the balanced rosy cheeks and lips are beautiful and very flattering. It goes well with Brooke's distinct features.

I was looking at the pictures from the Webby awards earlier and I agree that that the make up that Brooke wore wasn't the most flattering. My favourite look is the amfAR Gala make up. It seems much softer and makes the most of Brooke's stunning features.

ReplyDeleteJane, I think the softer the colors and the application the better it is for someone like Brooke. Her bone structure is amazing and her eyes are naturally well defined.

ReplyDeletechristie looks great - and - crazy in that pic! in some of the recent photos of her she hasn't looked like herself, which makes me wonder how much work she's had done. but here she looks a bit better. she's certainly in great shape!

Brooke looks great, but really messed up all her speaking parts at the Tonys - what was that about?? Christie has had a LOT of work done - too much in my opinion. I met her years ago at a hair salon in NYC. She was just lovely - very soft looking, and with very natural makeup. I'm sad to see her looking so harsh and overly made-up.
ReplyDeleteI too have had a crush on Brooke for many years--I think she's about my age. She looks wonderful and obviously not over-botoxed. Sorry, but Christie looks like a porn star in that pic--especially with that lipstick--she is 57 and has had a lot of work done--good work though.
