Doesn't it seem like Sarah Jessica Parker is having too many fashion misses lately? Last night SJP attended the Museum Of Modern Art 4th Annual Film Benefit: 'A Tribute To Pedro Almodovar'. It was sponsored by Chanel (Uncle Karl was there, looking as scary as ever), and Sarah was wearing a Chanel 2012 resort dress (because we all know that NYC in mid-November is perfect for resort-wear) with this odd long vest from the same Chanel collection. The vest made more sense on the runway than it did on the red carpet:
It's painful because I love Sarah Jessica Parker and think she's a lot more interesting than most actresses and fashion figures. But in this instance I don't even like her hair. It's just too much and isn't doing anything for her. Her eye makeup is pretty, so I guess that's something.

I think without the vest it's perfect. The dress seems to be couture, I'll bet in person it's a work of art.
ReplyDeletethe dress is lovely but looks a bit absurd with that vest which looks like a Chico's knockoff. Why don't women wear stoles anymore? Doesn't have to be fur - but it's the perfect accompaniment to a dress of that stature.
ReplyDeleteI like SJP, but her 15 minutes are soooo over. Time to yield, Sarah.
ReplyDeleteI agree! The dress is beautiful - why cover it up?? I think even a interesting cropped cardigan would be better. Her makeup looks stunning though.
ReplyDeleteWhat.was.she.thinking.?
ReplyDeleteLawrence in Ohio.
Please. Sarah Jessica Parker is one who needs to go away.
ReplyDeleteWell it does get kind of chilly here at night so she had to throw on something. It's a kind of pretty dress although I'm not a fan of grey.
ReplyDeletesorry, but i stopped liking her since that boobjob she must have done before SATC 2...
ReplyDeleteThe dress doesn't complement her figure at all. The big X in the front creates all kinds of visual lumps and bumps. I don't get the vest, but maybe she was trying to (unsuccessfully) channel the Man Repeller. I don't see much merit in the makeup, either. Her eyes are too small to be rimmed all the way around like that.
ReplyDeleteHas she changed her stylist lately? She really seems to be in a "don't" rut.
Well, there's also the lipstick. I do like a nice bright pink with grey.
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is a headdesk.
Love SJP, the outfit might work for her if the texture or weight of the fabrics were similar to one another.
ReplyDeleteIt does look odd on SJP! I think one of the contributing factors is the fact that she is quite short- you need model height to pull this one off.
