New Hair: Princess Charlene & Olivia Wilde

Princess Charlene of Monaco chopped off her hair and changed her look dramatically. I can't say I'm a fan, but I was never crazy about her style to begin with. Don't get me wrong: she's a beautiful woman, but something always feels off (maybe it's Albert).

Olivia Wilde is a blonde now, and I'm not swooning over it, either. I'm not sure why: Olivia definitely pulls it off, but I think her beautiful eyes get lost in the softer and less contrasting look.

What say you?

  1. We wonder if Princess Charlene is channeling her inner Jane Lynch?

  2. Princess Charlene, while pretty, seems like she is being molded into someone she is not, she looks uncomfortable in every photo I've seen her in.

  3. I think the princess simply does not look truly happy, I didn't think she even looked happy in her wedding photos especially when you compare them to those of Kate Middleton. You have to wonder what's going on there.

I don't like the blonde on Olivia or perhaps it's this particular shade. She's looking washed out. Sometimes the darker side is really better. :)

  4. Agreed. I am not "wilde" about Olivia anyway, however.

  5. I think she looks beautiful as always. She can try any style and pull it off. She has the guts to try and careless about what others think. You have to have tough skin to be in her position and I think she is doing great. It is funny how people that do not like her take the time to look her up and comment on her. Of course she is not trying to be like kate middleton she is being herself. Just because she smiles all the time and seems so perfect she is the pedestool of what every princess should be. Who would want to be like kate middleton. She has to do everything the palace says get an allowance from her in laws and walks around like a trained dog. I like Princess Charlene becuase she is different. She shows her emotions and is being true to herself I do not see anything so sad about her she is laughing and smiling. It just really shows how some people believe anything they read. If she was trying to escape from Monaco and not get married, Where are the pictures of her running away and the third child out of wedlock? I would assume that if they are true someone would have shown some proof. I have not seen any evidence to confirm those ridiculously stupid rumors. She is an independent woman with an olympic gold medal from swimming and she was a teacher. I do not blame them not to pay any attention to that nonsense because it is just gossip for the magazines. Just because Prince Albert has two children out of wedlock does not mean they do not love each other. Those children were before he met Charlene, even though he is a royal he has made mistakes too. He has been a bachelor and probably careless with himself never thinking he would ever get married. He met Charlene and I think they are each others best friend and they love each other.

  6. Olivia should have stayed a brunette in my humble opinion...but perhaps I'm just biased, being a brunette myself :)

  7. Princess Charlene is a lovely woman, but the hair cut is rather unflattering on her. I always associate such short cuts with a gamine look (Audry Hepburn!) or an androgenous look (Stella Tennant). It's pretty obvious from the way the princehates dressed, though, hat neither one of those looks is what she is trying to cultivate. Perhaps she simply got tired of fussing with her hair and decided to take the summer off.

As for Olivia Wilde, she has such striking features that can hold their own against darker hair color. I'm sure she could pull off blonde, just not this one dimensional blah shade

  9. I have a friend who worked at the Genua airport, and she told me that the Monaco airport was closed on the day before the wedding, because Princess Charlene had tried to leave the country and the marriage. She had told me that that very same day, before the news had made it to the newspapers or the internet. I have no doubt about it, she had changed her mind, and then they made her change her mind again. I really feel sorry for her, being a princess or a queen is something I wouldn't wish to anyone.
As for Olivia Wilde, she looked much better as a brunette. Her beautiful eyes now are lost in all that blonde, and her facial features clash with the light colour. She's an astonishingly beautiful woman, now with the wrong look.

  10. I have always though princess Charlene was beautiful, but her look was always so much softer... She never looks very happy in photos, maybe it has something to do with having such a doofy looking husband. This look is SO masculine and dare I say sapphic looking. Those pants would also benefit from a good tailor, where are her feet?

I also agree that the blonde does not suit Olivia Wilde, who has a sort of unique beauty to her face... I think the blonde is too close to her fair complexion and it washes her out. She looks so generic, where as before she looked more exotic... Blondes don't always have more fun...

  11. Princess is perhaps doing a subtle (not so) channel of something less sexy as a means of pushing away an unwanted husband? Who knows. My guess, at least.

Olivia was so sexy as a brunette, really breathtaking.

  12. I agree that Olivia looks washed out as a blonde...and that's not easy for a woman who has such striking features! It's obviously the wrong color for her - hopefully, it's just for a role, and she'll go back to a more flattering shade.

  13. Princess Charlene has gone back to how she used to wear her hair - in a short bob. It really suits her. She is not beautiful, but is pretty. I prefer her look over that of The Duchess of Cambridge.
