Currently- June 2013

Book
I was sent a copy of M.J.Rose's new book for review. I must get to it, but also read her Book Of Lost Fragrances that I downloaded ages ago and never got around to reading. Tomorrow, I promise.

Music
Josh Ritter- Joy To You, Baby

Perfume
Parfumerie Generale Ilang Ivohibe. Ylang is pretty big this year, and this 2006 release is worth revisiting if you haven't lately. It's just so pretty.

Makeup
Chanel fall collection. Reviews starting tomorrow.

Frequently Worn Item/Outfit
Striped dresses. Long, short, or in between. My favorite one is an Ella Moss maxi, followed closely by a cute nautical Sonia Rykiel one.

Food
Cherries

Bane
My laptop's power cord. I have a feeling it's not the first time I'm complaining about this, but it's getting utterly ridiculous.

Joy
Kittens. Marigold, Pippa, and Gemma are the sweetest and cuddliest little things. Kittens make everything better.

Guilty Pleasure
Speculating on the name of the royal baby.

Anticipation
Summer tomatoes from my backyard.

Wishlist
Full bottles of Viktoria Minya Hedonist and Tauer Noontide Petals.

Random Thought (courtesy of the Husband)
Why has Huff Post become so focused on the Kardashians?

How about you? What are your current loves, banes and thoughts?

    Book
The Sookie Stackhouse series. Yes, it's brain candy. I am not ashamed.

    Music
    Bad Company -- 10 from 6

    Perfume
Tom Ford Sahara Noir. Say what you will, but I ~like~ fragrances that are a little bit dirty. (or a lot)

    Makeup
Sheseido Fullmake Washable Base and Oriental Gold BB Cream

    Frequently Worn Item/Outfit
Coolibar UPF 50+ Shawl. I am considerably less than thrilled with the colour offerings, but very happy to have an alternative to sticky, lotion-y sunscreen.

    Food
    Dave's Alder Smoked Salmon

    Bane
soccer moms... dance moms... gymnastics moms

    Joy
    spontaneous cuddles from my children

    Guilty Pleasure
that martini I had for lunch

    Anticipation
    daughters' birthday trip

    Wishlist
    Spurs victory

    Random Thought
I'm really in the mood for a good Bollywood movie.

  3. I love Ilang Ivohibe, but (rats!) I've been told it's discontinued. Can this be true?

    1. I don't know, Jillie, but it's still listed on Parfumerie Generale's website (parfumerie-generalecom) and is in stock at Luckyscent.

  4. I'm really looking forward to the Chanel reviews. Their fall collection puts a dent in my wallet most every year, and I don't think 2013 will be an exception.

  5. I ordered a sample of PG's Ilang Ivohibe because of your comments and it sounded like something I would enjoy - wow, I really love this beautiful fragrance. It's very sensual and soft, perfect for summer. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

  6. I'm reading the Book of Lost Fragrances now, it's marvelous and addicting. The novel reminds me a bit in Jitterbug Perfume with multiple characters in different time periods, sibling perfumers and the hunt for a perfume across continents...and time periods.
