FotD (and Kittens)

The best FotD belong to the kittens, obviously. Gloria, Georgie, and Lilian are doing wonderfully.  They have distinct personalities and are amazing to watch. I know that not everyone is on Facebook, but our Jersey Cats page is completely public, so you don't need an account to see any of the photos and the videos. I also try to post different photos on Instagram, to keep things interesting. While it feels like I'm constantly making bottles, washing bottles, or feeding kittens while wearing formula-stained yoga pants. But I also managed to leave the house a few times in full makeup, so that's what we have today.

Someone recently asked for a makeup look using Pixi pencils, so that's what we have here today. A pencil-only eye makeup that only utilized one brush (Chikuhodo Z10). The colors here are neutralish, but I did use quite a bit of color and extended the shape because I was going to wear my glasses and wanted some impact. I might post another Pixi eye look based on teal or blue.

Face
Giorgio Armani Fluid Master primer.
Chanel Les Beiges 30. This one absolutely require an oil primer, or it looks dry and porous on my face. Since I didn't use any I tried to fix the situation using Smashbox Primer Water (meh), and eventually it all settled. But this Chanel foundation is only for really clammy days.
Hourglass Hidden Concealer in Natural and YSL Touche Eclat No.2 to correct and even things out where needed.
Youngblood Hi-Def Hydrating Powder.

Eyes
Wet'n'Wild primer
Pixi Lid Last Shadow Pen in Mocha Mauve all over the mobile lid.
Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Bronze Beam smudged on the lid with the Z10 brush and used to tightline.
Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Copper Glow applied generously under the lower lashes and again smudged with the same brush.
Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara.

Eyebrows
Wunderbrow gel in Black/Brown

Cheeks
Lancome Blush Subtil Duo Pressed Rose (Limited edition from their Jason Wu collaboration).  I used both the blush and the highlighter for a quick and easy look. Any combination of a natural rosy blush and a pinkish frosty highlighter will do, and I use a light hand anyway.

Lips
Giorgio Armani Smooth Silk lip pencil #9 all over the lips
L'Oreal Glossy Balm 260 Vintage Rose

Other Stuff
Top by DVF
Antique earrings
Frames by Tiffany (available from LensCrafters on special order)
SotD Rainmaker by En Voyage.

  2. Congratulations on the latest additions to your family. The kittens are adorable! And as for you, you look radiant. I always seem to have a Pixi pencil in black which I use whenever I want an intensely black, smoky look smudged around my eyelashes. It's one of those drugstore finds that never ceases to amaze me with its ability to outperform so many of the major brands.

  3. Gaia, I would love to see a Pixi look with teal or blue, one of my favorite summer looks!
I've recently discovered that my Chanel foundations are best used with oil primers, or as Wayne Goss recommends, a drop or two of oil in the foundation, to give it a natural luminosity. My skin needs all the moisture it can get.
Can I say I'm over the moon over your new additions? They are as cute as beans!
I love kitty cats - thank you for the pictures, it made a tough work week much easier! >^..^< *squishes* to you and all your furry babies.

  4. Yay! It was me who wished to see Pixi pencils in action, so big thanks! Masterful makeup, and you look extra radiant, maybe partly because of kitten trio happiness - they are adorable.

Looking forward to teal and blue looks, too.

  6. Hello! I've seen many FOTD pics as a subscriber, and you look great in them. I just wanted to say, however, that this color combination on your cheeks and lips is the one I love the most. It is just perfection how it lights up your face.

Thank you for fostering kittens. As a fellow rescuer of cats, I mean it sincerely.

  7. This look is lovely. Love neutrals. I only have the thin Pixi eyeliner pencils. Love that blush color, of course it would be LE. I'm on the fence about my sample of Chanel Beiges but haven't tried an oil primer with it yet. What oil primer would you recommend?
The kittens are adorable. I think I missed it, what happened to their mother? They're so lucky, (or is it just fate) that they have you to take them in and care for them.

  8. I'm truly obsessed with art, but, I'm sorry, there is no art in the world that can possibly come close to the faces of those kittens - well, to me, at least. And the videos on Jersey Cats. Just unbelievably adorable. What a blessing for you to have them. And, obviously, for them to have you. Oh, and love the names you chose for them.
Great lip color in your photo. Those glasses are truly perfect for your face. And it reminds me that I need to start shopping for new frames for myself soon - I find I'm having to wear them more and more frequently to read almost anything.

  9. I normally go with color, but I get a lot of use out of the Pix! Copper Glow.

Also, just wanted to add another bless you for caring for those little kits!

  10. Adorable kittens...love their little pink noses! I really like those frames. You did great eye makeup that enhances your eyes with the glasses. I've been wanting another pair of glasses so I will be looking at Tiffany frames for sure.
