The very cold (Arctic blasts here in Montreal) weather seems to bring out the best in it for me. I do combine it with a softer body lotion, usually Jo Malone's French Lime Blossom. It's the only thing about really cold weather that I look forward to. As a matter of fact, winter used to be my favorite season. Hard to believe now. I know what you mean about the beauty. I get it. I think of Moominland Midwinter and I smile. But like you, my body suffers. I keep the house at 75 degrees but somehow it just never feels good. The chill is in my bones, and the short dark days affect my spirit. Perfume is a big comfort, though. As are cats, beautiful coats, and cheese. And I hate the short days, hate grey, dark, wet days. Am always mystified by the kids at the nearby campus who appear to be completely immune to any sensation of painful cold and go out in sub freezing temps without even a jacket on. I think some of the guys are protected by surrounding themselves in *enormous* bubbles of body spray or cologne - enough to keep the cold and all living beings with a sense of smell away for a radius of at least 20 feet.
Love your list. Felanilla is another scent you've reminded me of that I absolutely adore, but haven't worn for a while due to other scents having elbowed their way in front of it. I tend to wear my favorite perfumes year round, but winter sees the most tropical themed scents and a tendency to crave warm comfort scents to the same degree that an alcoholic might crave a stiff drink.
AnnaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27044110.post-82436659274946768062014-01-17T16:39:32.503-05:002014-01-17T16:39:32.503-05:00I think of Chanel No 19, which I love, as a spring...I think of Chanel No 19, which I love, as a spring scent, not a winter scent. On my skin the warmth of the flowers seems to come through much more than it does on most other people. Regardless, I love it any time of year.

This winter I can't get enough of Musc Ravageur, 5 o'clock au Gingembre, Dries van Noten, and now--thanks to you--Silk Way. I think I've used up half the bottle since I got it yesterday. ;)SoSuSamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09890365691156994507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27044110.post-67783905137285963192014-01-17T14:57:25.382-05:002014-01-17T14:57:25.382-05:00Jon, you can't be doing it wrong with French L...Jon, you can't be doing it wrong with French Lover.
