Le Metier de Beaute Precision Liquid Eyeliner

I have a very soft spot for eyeliner in a felt pen format. I learned how to apply liquid liner by using them, and that's a big thing for a registered klutz like me. The Precision Liquid Eyeliner from Le Metier de Beaute is as good as they come. It feels balanced and stable in my hand, easy to control and lets me draw the perfect line (mine starts hair-thin and thickens gradually to an almost wing at the outer corner of the eye). It holds forever with and without a primer and doesn't fade or flake, even on a hot and humid day.

Noir is my perfect daytime black. It's a bit muted and less glossy than Lancome Artliner in the same color, making it easier to wear and always appropriate, because the look is never too harsh. The excellent quality makes me reach for it often, and not having to fuss with a brush is an added bonus.

The photo above is the official Le Metier de Beaute fall look. Maybe it's just me, but I think whoever conceived it was way off. It doesn't convey the luxury and elegance of the brand, and would probably not make anyone run to Bergdorf and buy it.

Le Metier de Beaute Precision Liquid Eyeliner ($42) is available from Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, online and in store. I got mine at Bergdorf.

  1. I have a soft spot for LMdB (loving their nail polish and lip gloss) and you're right, the advertizement photo wouldn't tempt me to buy their eyeliner. Your review does....

  2. The white eyeshadow, the finely drawn black lines, the nude mouth . . .Oh, to be back in the 60's once again! If you look at pictures of Twiggy, Cher, et al from that era, you'll find meaning in the expression, "Been there, seen that, done that." Of course, I'm a relic from that time period, so perhaps that explains my boredom with Le Metier's so called new look.

  3. Lady Jane, thank you :) I guess I have a decent grasp on what their potential customers might like...

  4. Eileen, this is how I feel about the 80s revival. I've done it all and have the hideous blackmail worthy photos to prove it.
I just ignore the "new look" and hand-pick the items that would work for me.

  5. Can't quite use the felt yet but I have the same soft spot, for them. Since switching to a mineral system- I just admire the look and have discovered way to achieve a seducing :-) similar affect w/ a mineral pen :-)
