Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick L3

I fell in love with L3,  the color of this Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick at first sight. So much so that I'm willing to forgive Sisley for less than stellar delivery on the promises of tenacity and moisture. It's not that the lipstick doesn't last or is drying- it isn't, really, but compared to other lipsticks in the top tier category (and price) such as Cle de Peau, The Sisley is not quite there.

Still, the formula is very nice, doesn't migrate and feels very comfortable. It has a subtle sheen to its finish, an excellent coverage and most of all- a rich and deep pigment. It's hard to describe L3- it's reddish, brownish and plummish at the same time- look at the swatch photos, taken within seconds from each other in different lights, so you see how easily it changes. On my lips (which are more pigmented than than average, so take that into account), L3 is a perfect daytime color- only a couple of tones darker than my natural color. I wear it everywhere.

I do wish Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick was, indeed, very hydrating. I don't care all that much about how many hours I get before touching up, but I like soft lips. It's as light and comfortable as can be, but it doesn't add any extra moisture.

Bottom Line: I like it more than this lipstick actually deserves.

Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick ($55) is available from top department stores.
