Pixelfolk Bags By The Beta Version- Followup

As promised, here are some details and shopping information for the gorgeous Pixelfolk totes (and iPad caes) from Hungarian designers The Beta Version. These bags were originally made for a Hungarian design competition, so now the company is working on actually creating them for sale. By the time the items will be ready, the online store (thebetaversion.com) will also be operational and offer secure shopping and an option to use PayPal.

Here's a little more about the design:

PIXELFOLK collection was inspired by the traditional hand-woven fabrics from the Somogy, Sárköz and Nógrád regions of Hungary. The well known patterns of traditional folk dresses and household textiles (birds, geometric motifs and stylized human figures) are transformed into pixel patterns, which then are pierced into the leather and felt surface by hand. Each bag is spliced together out of a single sheet, bearing a symbolic reference to the traditional method of weaving. As vegetable tanned leather ages beautifully (the colour gets darker over time) the bags will express the value of design and tradition for a long time.
