Le Metier de Beaute Blue Steel True Color Eye Shadow

This is shaping up to be a very blue week. Yesterday we looked at Chanel Lagons, a palette full of friendly blue shades that do not look tacky and lend themselves to an elegant application. In the same spirit, Le Metier de Beaute offers several blue options in their True Color eye shadow range.

Blue Steel (the name is somewhat misleading) is a light blue gray slightly tinged with an aqua green. It can be used anywhere on the lid: lining, contouring, a delicate wash or by patting some on the center of the lid. Blue Steel can be applied as is or over a cream base such as a neutral Bobbi Brown long wear eye shadow or on top of a bolder color (I love it with Laura Mercier Teal Cashmere). I also experimenting mixing the eye shadow with Le Metier de Beaute Magic Luster and loved the vibrant result.

Blue Steel is one of Le Metier de Beaute satin textured eye shadows, making it a joy to apply and blend, not to mention a sight to behold. It's pretty and sophisticated, which is the whole point of wearing such colors in  a pretty and modern way.

Bottom Line: an eye opening experience.

Le Metier de Beaute Blue Steel True Color Eye Shadow ($30) is available from Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and select Nordstrom locations as well as online.

  1. I bet this looks gorgeous with brown eyes. I owned it briefly and let it go. It was too close to my own eye color and made me look alien. I was disappointed because this LMdB eyeshadow needed no layering. Brown-eyed girls get all the fun.
