Rouge Bunny Rouge Sea Of Clouds Highlighting Liquid

I've always liked the idea of liquid highlighters and illuminators, but always had issues with the ones I tried. Sometimes the base color changed the shade of my foundation in a very unflattering way (everything with pink or peach undertone did it), or the shimmer particles were too visible. Enter Rouge Bunny Rouge and their highlighting liquid (Sea Of Illumination).

These Rouge Bunny Rouge highlighters come in four shades; I chose Sea Of Clouds, the basic white one. You can use the highlighter either mixed with your moisturizer or with your foundation. I prefer the latter method as it requires less product to get a nice result (at least on my skin). Sea Of Clouds slightly lightens up my foundation or tinted moisturizer without altering their color or messing with coverage. The texture is very smooth, not greasy or gritty at all. It blends perfectly with my base and gives the most natural highlighting effect I've ever experienced. It's completely daytime appropriate as long as you use it responsibly.

In the photo above you see Sea Of Clouds mixed with a moisturizer, with no other product covering it. I couldn't capture the delicate glow in a photo when foundation was involved-- it's that subtle. I add a tiny drop only to the portion of foundation I apply to the cheekbones, nowhere else and nothing more. Of course, you can do a very light all-over wash if that's your thing. Even with frequent use  it looks like the bottle will last me forever, as it takes so little to get the result I want.

Bottom Line: best in class.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Sea Of Clouds Highlighting Liquid (around $74 in the current exchange rate) is available from zuneta.com. They ship internationally.

  1. I have Sea of Tranquility and Sea of Nectar. I love them but have been looking for different application techniques to make the most of them. I love the idea of mixing it with your foundation just for your cheekbones. It will be a subtler effect than the straight product itself on the cheekbones. Thanks!

  2. I've been tempted to try this... but since I heard GossMakeup say thei lipsticks were nice but way overpriced, I was a bit turned off by the brand.

Thanks for posting though! I might just buy into this and pick it up. =)
