RMK Face Powder & Cheek S Brushes

We can skip right to the bottom line with these two RMK face brushes: they're spectacular. Made as a blend of grey squirrel and goat hair, both RMK Face Powder and Cheek brush S are at the top tier of softness. It makes them a pleasure to use, but that's just part of the story. These RMK brushes are wonderfully shaped- the face powder brush, as full and round as it is, has the nearly flat edge that allows to pick up an even amount of product and then press it onto the skin. The finish you get from this application is never too powdery or chalky. The brush has a lot of give, so maneuvering it is as easy as it gets with large powder brushes.

When it comes to cheek brushes, RMK offers them in two sizes. I picked the small one because I have enough large and round blush brushes but could use another one of the more directional and precise shape/application. With this brush you never get blush where you didn't mean it to go. This RMK brush is perfect for a very defined look and is even small enough for highlighting the cheekbones or flicking away excess powder products from around the nose or under the eyes.

The comparison photos show you these RMK Face Powder and Cheek S brushes next to other ones of similar proportions and quality: Rouge Bunny Rouge Blusher 002 and Le Metier de Beaute powder and blush brushes. You can see that as close as these brushes may be in softness and performance, the RMK brushes still have a somewhat unique shape. I can't and don't want to choose just one, so it's a matter of your personal preference and product availability.

I bought these RMK Face Powder ($69.99) & Cheek S ($59.99) Brushes from bonboncosmetics.com, which as far as I know is the only website that delivers them to the US. If you're in Asia or in London there are several locations that you can find through rmkrmk.com.

  1. they look similar to the Lunasol cheek brush that I recently got. Maybe they are made by the same manufacturer? That brush is soooo soft. I love it! I kinda want to change all my brushes and just go Japanese :)

  3. Ooh, beautiful. These are 'on my list' items and I just so happen to be making a trip into London on Saturday. Selfridges is calling me! Thank you very much for the comparison too, it really does show off their unique shape.
