Chanel No. 5 After Bath Powder

I'm not a big user of body powders since my skin is tragically dry. However sometimes I do like the feeling and smoothness a good powder provides. It's nice under sticky situations such as summers in NYC and in workout clothes. Chanel definitely makes good bath and body products, and the No. 5 After Bath Powder is no exception. The powder is reasonably fine-textured and usually melts right into the skin.

The scent of Chanel No. 5 After Bath Powder is a surprisingly less vanillic version of the iconic No. 5. There's a very dry and woody element there that takes a sweeter powdery turn as it interacts with the skin. Eventually what's left is a very clean musk scent that's only detectable at skin level before it disappears entirely.

I know the various Chanel No. 5 bath and body products are often used together to anchor the scent, making it last longer. It definitely works with the bath oil and body cream (less so with the lotion), but the After Bath powder is more for the luxury of it than for true fragrance layering.

Chanel No. 5 After Bath Powder ($65, 5oz) is available at the counters and from chanel.com.

  1. I've been thinking about getting some of the cream because I adore No. 5 but it has absolutely NO stick on my skin. I have to spritz like mad all day long to get it to last.

  2. My godmother always wore No. 5 bath powder. I keep it around to remind me of her.

  3. Great review !
I have the latest version of bath powder it's lovely ! Do you think it's a bit like eau premiere in scent ?? I've got that and it seems a bit like it to me , however I don't have edt or edp so maybe it's more like them in scent ?? Any ideas ???
Only I would love to get the closest matching fragrance to the powder smell it's just scrummy :) bright fresh adorable !
