Orly Nite Owl Nail Polish

This bottle of Orly nail polish in Nite Owl was an impulse buy at Ulta (the spelling of the name makes me cringe, but whatever). Nite Owl was part of Orly's fall 2011 Birds Of A Feather collection and is still widely available. It's the kind of nude/taupe/beige color I wear a lot, with enough shimmer to make it a little more interesting. I wanted to give Orly a chance as it's been years since I last bought any of their products and couldn't even remember if I like them.

I do.
From the easy to grip rubbery cap (the brush is pretty standard) to the fact that two coats were enough, dried quickly and proved chip-resistant for five days, this Orly polish is really good. The pigment is not quite as complex and sophisticated as Chanel, Dior or RBL, but pretty and wearable should not be underrated.

The closest color to Orly Nite Owl I have is Under My Trench from Sephora by OPI, but the latter has finer shimmer and is a little more subdued.

Other beige/nude colors I wear a lot are various Butter London shades, but as you can see, none of them is similar (For those who keep asking, All Hail McQueen was renamed All Hail The Queen and is available everywhere Butter London is sold). Yummy Mummy and McQueen are warmer than Nite Owl, while Fash Pack is barely shimmery.

Bottom Line: easy love.

Orly Nite Owl Nail Polish ($8.50) is available from Ulta, Beauty.com and orlybeauty.com.

  1. Well drat. I told myself I didn't need this one, but my often worn beige/nude collection is pretty much the same as yours... And it fits in there so nicely, doesn't it?

  2. I've got it, too. It's pretty easy to wear; nothing too complicated, but with a little bit of shimmer to keep it interesting. I might wear it now actually since I was wondering what to put on!
