Book
John Taylor- In The Pleasure Groove. My inner 13 year old is giddy because I have a signed copy. On top of a digital copy. At least I didn't opt for the audio book (it's read by him, so very tempting).

Music
I blame this earworm, Reptile by Citizens! on Russ Borris from WFUV who plays it almost every night.

Perfume
I might actually need a backup bottle of Houbigant Apercu. Also reaching for Chanel No.5 in every vintage version. Sometimes it's the only one that'll do.

Makeup
YSL Touche Eclat foundation. It didn't perform well during the summer, but it's perfect right now (review coming in a couple of weeks).

Frequently Worn Outfit/Item
Cardigans over silk dresses. It's my uniform.

Food
My mom's.

Guilty Pleasure
Going back to bed after already getting up on a cold morning.

Bane
No banes as long as the power stays on.

Joy
Last night.

Anticipation
Twilight Breaking Dawn 2. Don't judge, just get your sparkly vampire on.

Wishlist
Vintage and antique jewelry. It's all I'm looking at lately.

Random Thought
Snooki Couture? Seriously? I was actually invited to the launch. Because you know it's a perfect fit for this blog.

How are you? Please share your loves, banes, thoughts, and recommendations!

  1. Book
Just finished The Casual Vacancy aka J.K. Rowling's book for adults. Everyone else seems to hate it because it's not Harry Potter, but I enjoyed it. It's like an Anthony Trollope novel for the 21st century. But be warned: It is very dark!

    Music
    Bach's Goldberg Variations

    Perfume
Ormonde Jayne Tolu and Sonoma Scent Studio To Dream. Lots of coziness for the fast-arriving winter!

    Makeup
MAC Trace Gold blush and Nars Joyous Red lipstick. I'm an Autumn type, see.

    Frequently Worn Outfit/Item
    Sweaters

    Food
    Mere Poulard's caramel shortbread cookies

    Guilty Pleasure
    Peppermint Mochas

Last night for me too! Though nearly everyone else in my district has gone into deep mourning.

Thanksgiving. As the family cook, it's my time to shine!

    Random Thought
I would like some Indian food right about now.

  2. My brain was thinking until I read the words "Snookie Couture" and that you were invited to see it. Snookie Couture is an oxymoron. They must not read your blog for sure to have thought you would like it.

    My current love: heat.
My bane: snow, wind and rain. Enough already!

  4. Book: I've been waffling over which way to get the JT, but reading this enabled me right into a signed first edition. Budget? What budget? I just finished Jo Nesbo's "The Phantom".

Perfume: the old SL Feminite de Bois, which never smelled quite right in New York. Here in Miami it's lovely, and so not the fruity bug spray that is apparently mandatory in this zip code.

Makeup: Chanel Notorious, which has made me snicker ever since Drivel About Frivol called it "Joue Zombie". I'm waiting for my YSL Sea Black eyeliner to arrive. Also, my local Sephora got Armani. Hm.

Love/Guilty Pleasure: our current glorious weather. I left NYC in January, and my heart hurts.

Food: Today it's raining--time to bake some chocolate chip cookies :-)

Guilty Pleasure: The Twilight franchise. I loved the books and am looking forward to Breaking Dawn 2

    Bane: No banes

Joy: Time spent with some very dear friends this week

    Anticipation: Thanksgiving

    Wishlist: Nothing at the moment

    Random Thought: Snookie Couture ?????
