Fig & Rouge Sweet Geranium Balm

Fig & Rouge is a UK brand that makes lip/skin balms and packages them in adorable retro-looking tins. It seems that they’re introducing these balms here in the US, as I received my Fig & Rouge Sweet Geranium Balm in one of these beauty boxes (might have been the blogger box from Influenster.com. I’m not sure).  The balms are natural and organic, which is not to say they can’t cause irritation if you’re sensitive to something in there, but in general and considering some of that ends being licked and consumed,  it’s nice to know that you’re putting natural oils and butters on your lips.

Fig & Rouge’s balms are made without petroleum gel, which I personally find ineffective for chapped lips, but I know some people prefer it to beeswax. I find that with continuous use my lips are kept in good shape, but I still prefer  the feel and nourishment I get from Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm.  However, when  I use Fig & Rouge Sweet Geranium Balm on my cuticles and on the dry skin around my nails I see instant relief and a decidedly healthier look.

The little tin is as travel friendly as they get. It fits in the tiniest pockets, clutches and purses and I’d take it with me anywhere for a quick skin fix.  The scent/taste of Sweet Geranium is very very mild. I’m either anosmic to it (not likely) or it is really barely fragranced. I’d say that if you find the smell of the classic Smith Rose Salve to be overwhelming, you might want to give Fig & Rouge a try.

  1. I agree that the tins are adorable, but the contents are mediocre. I tries the Cherry Vanilla and found it completely non-moisturizing.
