Naomi Campbell In Azzedine Alaia

We can all agree that Naomi Campbell is probably not the cuddliest person ever, and I doubt I'd like to be her friend or invite her to a dinner party. But she's as gorgeous today as she was twenty years ago, and has retained her supermodel style on and off the red carpet. The other night Naomi attended  the Novak Djokovic Foundation gala dinner in London (it's a European charity for disadvantaged kids), wearing a stunning dress by her favorite designer, Azzedine Alaia. I love everything about this look, especially the makeup.

My favorite supermodel from that era was (and still is) Linda Evangelista. Who was yours?

  2. I'm always happy to see those ladies! They're still so much more interesting to me than most of today's crop of models. My favorites were/are Linda and Christy Turlington (who was on the cover of Harper's Bazaar last month!).

  3. I'm glad she's not holding a cell phone. :) Linda was my favorite too. I think it's interesting to see how different the supermodels were from each other in that era, they had a distinct look - Linda, Cindy, Christy, Naomi, etc. They also looked like powerful, substantial women (Kate Moss aside) unlike today's models. I think it was perhaps in Vogue or maybe Marie Claire more recently when their extended front cover feature about 10 of the latest great models. They all looked alike, same bodies, similar features, hair - even if they were of different ethnicities they still looked alike. Not even Gisele stood out from the crowd. It's pretty sad. Yes, models are there to showcase the clothes but I find that interesting models bring the fashions more attention.

  5. Linda and Christy were my two favorites; don't know if Carole Bouquet or Ines De la Fressange were supermodels per se', but they certainly were my favorite Chanel models.

  7. Absolutely stunning picture of Naomi. Cindy Crawford was my favourite supermodel, probably Christy Turlington second.

  11. I'm not a big fan, but she looks stunning. Everything. Supermodel or not, that's hard to pull off.

Christy was my fave rave supermodel, but Linda and Shalom are close, too.

  12. She does look great, and appears to be sporting (mostly) her own hair, which infers bonus points. Christy, Shalom, and Helena were old faves for me. Cindy was Gia v2, and both were phenomenal.
