Zum Clean Laundry Soap Frankincense & Myrrh

Here's something that makes doing laundry a little more fun: Zum Clean Laundry Soap in Frankincense & Myrrh scent. Yes, frankincense and myrrh. In your laundry room. I was already familiar with Zum candles. They're quite nice (smell natural, excellent throw, good value for the money), even if the burn time is a bit uneven. Seeing that Zum also offers a liquid laundry detergent in their signature Frankincense & Myrrh scent got me interested; I use Seventh Generation for most things, but still love laundry products smell luxurious.

This is definitely the case with Zum. The liquid detergent smells like the real thing. No hint of those dreaded laundry musks. The scent is quite strong-- I can smell it throughout my basement, and it clings to the garments for a while. According to the Zum people, this soap is 100% all natural, made of coconut oil, baking soda, vegetable glycerin, natural borax and pure essential oils. I was skeptical of the claim that using Zum detergent eliminates the need for fabric softeners and dryer sheets, but apparently they're right. My laundry emerges from the dryer as soft as ever, and smelling of incense. That's pretty fabulous.

Zum Clean Laundry Soap is supposedly also fit for high efficiency washers, stretching the bottle to 64 loads. Mine is a 13 year old top loader (may it live long and prosper), so I couldn't check this claim. I can say that the detergent is perfectly compatible with my much-beloved ancient Whirlpool.

Bottom Line: my towels have never smelled better.

Zum Clean Laundry Soap Frankincense & Myrrh ($19.75, 64oz) is available from soap.com.

  2. I just got the Zum Oil in this scent. The package was waiting for me when I got home. It's supposed to be a massage/body oil but I'm going to use it in my hair which has been rather straw-like lately. I'm a big incense freak so I couldn't resist this when I saw it.

  3. I have an HE washer and the Zum laundry detergent works very well. My personal favorite is the Patchouli.

  4. Their soaps are my favorite, ever. And the print catalog is a hoot.

  5. THANK YOU so much for this, Gaia! I usually use unscented detergent, but there are times when I'd like to incorporate a nice scent into the laundry (especially for towels, whites and sheets), and nothing I can find at the grocery store suits me. I'll definitely be ordering this.
