Rouge Bunny Rouge- Silhouette & Tundra

The two newest perfumes from Rouge Bunny Rouge are part of the Provenance Tales series (aka the ones in the black bottles), the darker and more interesting part of the line. In the past I liked Embers, and now Tundra and Silhouette join it and are even more interesting while maintaining the brand's aesthetics. Tundra and Silhouette are dry, woody, and gender-neutral. Neither one is loud or flashy, and both are elegant and easy to wear without being derivative or boring. I liked them at first spritz and learned to appreciate them even more with continued testing, depleting my samples rather quickly.

Tundra could easily pass as a true masculine. On my skin it's all about cedarwood: dry cedar, smoky cedar, moss-covered cedar. The spice and vetiver take a backseat to this "cedar three ways" show, and I'm fine with that. It's long-lasting, low sillage, a bit understated but very satisfying for cedar lovers, without using some of the accords often associated with it, such as pencil shavings or band-aids (maybe a hint of the former, more noticeable in really hot weather). There's a touch of incense and a dry wind in the crunchy grass that I find very appealing. I'd say that this streamlined and smooth woody perfume can be a perfect daytime office scent for just about anyone. Must love cedar.
Notes: Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Laurel Leaves, Juniper, Nutmeg, Elemi, Patchouli, Violet, Moss, Cedarwood, Musk, Vetiver.

Silhouette is probably the sexiest of these two Rouge Bunny Rouge perfumes. It won me over with the layered combination of the softest, sweetest rose petals over an incredibly smooth leather note. There's a lot more going on here, though: spice and wood, musky skin with an almost-but-not-quite animalic touch, and a decidedly luxurious feel. Silhouette smells refined and urban. If Tundra had a touch of the outdoors, this one is all about a night in a top floor apartment overlooking the city and listening to classic jazz, sipping red wine while seated on a burgundy leather couch.
Notes: Coriander, Pimento, Nutmeg, Rose Petals, Cedarwood Atlas, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Cade Wood, Musk, Ambergris, Leather, Guaiac Wood.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Tundra and Silhoutte ($169 each, 50ml EDP) are available from beautyhabit.com and directly from rougebunnyrouge.com. The samples for this review were sent by the company.
