Chanel Riviere Illusion d'Ombre- Makeup Look

This is my quick way to use Chanel Riviere Illusion d'Ombre (reviewed and swatched earlier today). For the sake of the photo, I'm wearing a bit more eye makeup than I normally would: I'd use the same colors but keep it a little lighter, but a couple of test photos showed too little of Riviere, so I packed it a little heavier and had to readjust everything around it.

I paired Riviere with LMdB Naked and Jojo eye shadows and Bobbi Brown Caviar Ink gel eyeliner (heavily smudged and mixed with Chanel Riviere, including on the bottom lashes), Laura Mercier mascara. I kept everything else minimal: Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge tinted moisturizer, Hourglass concealer, Sunday Riley blush in Blushing and a clear lip balm.

  1. Another gorgeous look Gaia. I love this color. Did you happen to see the BLEU ILLUSION collection coming out in July? Not sure yet who will carry it. My Chanel SA didn't know anything about it. You can check it out on lachanelephile. I want both of the new Illusion d'Ombre's and one of the liners. If not sold in stores in the US, hopefully Strawberry.net will carry. Thanks again for another great post.

    1. I haven't seen it yet, other than online, but have full intention of getting a few items. Every blue Chanel item I have has been a smashing success.

  2. It looks lovely on you. Very nice indeed. You are quite striking and can wear many colours I can not get away with, and wish that I could.

  3. Thank you, hopflower. That's very sweet of you.
Between my skint one and I shape I can pull off some crazy colors, that's true. It's the more conventional ones that rarely work for me, either because they don't even show or because they make me look sick.

  4. Thank you for sharing these face shots of yourself to better demonstrate how you make these products your own. I look forward to seeing you evolve these in your own style, as you have always done. (Plus, I can well understand the courage it requires to take that plunge.) <3
