Rituals- Zensation Organic Rice Milk & Cherry Blossom Foaming Shower Gel

In case anyone needed another proof that generous samples and gifts with purchase are the best things to drive sales...

The bottle of  Rituals- Zensation Organic Rice Milk & Cherry Blossom Foaming Shower Gel came as a GWP from a recent Barneys order. I was only vaguely aware of Rituals, a Dutch home and body line that arrived at Barneys last October. I read the press release and promptly forgot all about it. But the minute I started using this foaming spray shower mousse I was hooked. completely and irrevocably.

It's both the texture and the scent. Is Zensation a milky mousse? a gellish milk? It's foaming, gentle, and feels dreamy on skin. And the cherry blossom scent is nothing short of heavenly. I never want to leave the shower. I mean, even more so than usual. The shower gel/foam is light, very gentle and doesn't aggravate my dry skin. I think it's actually soothing and calming.

And that scent. It's pretty and just on the verge of heady but not aggressively so.  I wish it came in more products. Currently the only other option is a body scrub which I will get at some point, but I wish they also offered body oils and creams, or even candles. Another incredible thing is the price. It's not what you'd expect at Barneys, as Rituals products are priced between $15-$25, but give the feeling of the most luxurious spa.

  1. In the Netherlands they offer an entire line including a body cream, bath oil, hand cream and a body perfume. Maybe these will come to the US eventually? Claudia

  2. I love this stuff.... got it in my bag from Barneys ' event. True, it's not entirely masculine smellin'.... but I love the way it foams. I want to try more of the other variations. They are also sorta reasonably priced, I agree.

My SA was kind enough (I drop a lot there) to also give me Rituals Fortune Oil ... which is a shower oil smelling of "sweet orange and cedar wood". It ALSO foams! Being a boy, though, I'm not quite sure what I am supposed to do with it!

  3. I got this sample as well from Barney's event. It sat in my bathroom unused, it just kept registering in my mind as a dry shampoo whenever I glanced at it because of the packaging. I tried it tonight after reading your review and I agree it's fabulous. The texture, the cleaning ability, the smell, the softness, I'm sold.

  4. Darn, I missed the last Barney's event so didn't get this sample. But I agree that getting samples has enticed me to spend money on products I would have never before considered. I wish all the stores would realize this.
