By Kilian- Good Girl Gone Bad (In The Garden Of Good And Evil)

I dislike the first twenty minutes of By Kilian's Good Girl Gone Bad from the new In The Garden Of Good And Evil collection so much that it matters very little that it develops into a beachy coconuty tuberose that smells pretty good. As a matter of fact, I'm also not crazy about the dry-down that takes the form of berries and some synthetic wood. I guess this By Kilian and I were not meant to be.

The official note list (see below) reads very tempting. In reality, Good Girl Gone Bad starts with a pickle note and continues to smell quite vinegary on my skin. I'm pretty sure that it's me and not Kilian, but really, testing this fragrance was a challenge. Things start to improve once the cornichon is gone. Good Girl becomes equally sweet and salty and smells like a fantasy beach vacation. The tuberose is quite prominent when you sniff it on skin level, and the coconut is fun and adds a creamy/buttery facet.

The dry-down takes me back into fruity-floral territory. I'm not sure what's in there that makes Good Girl Gone Bad smell fake, plastic-like and full of berries. The fragrance is loud but not in a good way; If you told me this was the latest Victoria's Secret eau de stinky mall I'd have believed you. Right now I'm just glad to be done with this review so I don't have to test it ever again.

Notes: jasmine, osmanthus, rose, tuberose, narcissus, amber and cedar.

  4. I was sprayed with this at a store yesterday. I did not get past the top notes but those did not smell sour. My comment to the SA was "Good Girl's Eaten a Lolipop"
