Spring dresses. I miss my knees.

Random Thought
I was not wearing my glasses first thing in the morning yesterday, so I  wondered why everyone on Facebook was posting "May the odds be ever in your favor".

How are you doing? What are your loves, joys, banes, recommendations, and random thoughts?

  1. It is a darned shame that Tatiana Maslany has never been nominated for an Emmy.

MUSIC: Eva Cassidy's "I Know you by Heart" & "Time and Tide" by Basia

TV: On a Firefly kick! Just rewatched whole series plus the movie Serenity and now I've started again "..burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me" :):):)

PERFUME: Getting out the scents I'd put away for fall/winter (my tradition of rewarding myself after days of spring cleaning), always such a glorious rediscovery! Sniffed the very few drops left in my decant of Amouage Jubilation XXV and Oh Have Mercy it's GOOD!! SO Good :) I'm all a-Swoon :)

MAKEUP: Not much, not often.. But I feel a change comin' on

FWO: Put on my first skirt of spring today! It'll be my thing now - cotton skirt n tank top :)

GUILTY PLEASURE: Breyers has new Gelato flavors! Strawberry Truffle, Chocolate Caramel, Cappuccino, .. We'll be getting together often for Happious Happity Happiments oh Yeah! :)

    FOOD: Crawfish Etouffee

BANE: Cleaning up paint. I seem to have a habit of spontaneous painting while spring cleaning, just can't be bothered to prepare properly ha

  6. Perfume: Vintage YSL Y, Ma Griffe and CM Christopher Street are getting a lot of wrist time.

Reading: Rereading Nadezhda Mandelstam's Hope Against Hope and Osip's The Noise of Time.

Bane: Perfume evaporation from very tightly shut, carefully stored bottles. I can accept (sort of) when this occasionally happens to some of my vintage bottles, but just discovered that two of my Pradas, Benjoin and Opoponax, both with screw tops have lost a significant amount to evaporation. Aaargh! I have five other Prada bottles from that series and it hasn't happened to them, so am not sure what went wrong with these two, but am *not* delighted.

Joy: Spring! Every crocus, every hyacinth, every dandelion, every blooming tree, every daffodil - I want to applaud them all. Frankly, it's to the point where I almost embarrass myself by how overjoyed I am to see all the plants coming up and the signs of warm weather returning. This is the time of year when I most appreciate living in NC.

Current food obsession: Pistachios - all about childhood memories.

Wishlist: New large clay pots (this winter did unfortunate things to pots I've had for centuries) and a Harry Lauder Walking Stick tree.

Random thought: It would require chains to keep me inside on a gorgeous day in spring or summer. And, even then, I am betting I could find a way to get free of the chains.

    Perfume
Well now that my perfume collection is finally organized (!!!!), it's been interesting to rediscover some bottles that had been hiding for ages. But really, right now I'm falling in love with Jubilation 25 extrait.

    Makeup
CoverFX Custom Cover Drops have completely changed how I do my makeup. I can't wait until yours arrive.

    http://www.haveataste.net/chocolate-cheese-bars-lollipops-and-truffles/

    Food
We joined a CSA, so it's all the local organic produce we can stuff down. Healthy, and supporting small family farms.

By the time we shower, change into jammies, and mix cocktails, dinner is ready.
