La Prairie Midnight Plum Cellular Luxe Lip Colour

Just like the other La Prairie lipstick I have in Quiet Berry, Midnight Plum's name is not exactly accurate. It's a lot more mauve than plum, and I have no idea what any of it has to do with midnight. Misnomer aside, between the rich and creamy texture of La Prairie lipsticks, the way they feel on the lips and the sophisticated take on a mauve pink color, this Cellular Luxe lipstick joins its sibling with a few other items I call My Preciousesesssssssss. Not very original, I know, but true nonetheless.

You can see the comparison between Quiet Berry and Midnight Plum. The latter is more pink and romantic while the former pulls a bit more red and even brown at certain light. I pick one or the other to complement my blush of the day, but both are understated and very pretty. The texture and the way these La Prairie lipsticks feel is nothing short of dreamy. They leave a visible stain even after a snack, and as I mentioned in my previous review, careful application with a brush, the way they deserve, makes the lipstick lasts for long hours.

Bottom Line: a staple.

La Prairie Cellular Luxe Lip Colour ($55) can be found at Saks, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman.

All photos are mine, whiskers are Josephine's.
