Chanel's Revamped Website Still Leaves A Lot To Be Desired

I was eagerly awaiting for the US launch of Chanel's new Rouge Coco lipstick, a hydrating creme formula. The email newsletter came today and the lipsticks are finally here. Considering the weather (10" of snow already on the ground and it keeps going strong), there's no visit to Saks in my immediate future. But Chanel.com is only a click away, right?

Chanel.com has recently gone through a redesign. You'd think they'd use the opportunity for some serious upgrades and improvements, especially in the color swatch department that has always been their weakest point. No such luck. I don't know about you, but I can't shop when what you see above is all the information I'm given.

KarlaSugar already has swatches of four Rouge Coco colors. We'll see which one of us gets to a Chanel counter first...

  1. Chanel's website is terrible. The colors are so off as to be lamentable. When I actually visited the Chanel counter and saw the gorgeous shade range for Rouge Coco, I could only shake my head in wonder that a company like Chanel can't get a decent website up and running.

I left the Chanel counter with Perle, Mademoiselle, Organdi Rose, and Ruban Rose--all springtime in California type colors. There are some beautiful berry colors that you'd probably love, Gaia. I hope you get to see them soon.

  2. I do agree with you, swatches presentation at Chanel.com is terrible. So it is at Nordstrom.com and other online stores as well. Based on what I've seen so far on Internet, I like Perle, Mademoiselle and Cambon. I'll be waiting for your future post about Rouge Coco. I love to read your blog.

  3. Temptalia has swatches of all 30 colors up. Sooo different from the online "swatches" at Chanel.com.

  4. The website swatches everywhere for this collection are lamentable. I went to see these tonight and picked up six shades. They look nothing like the swatches. As an aside, the first order I placed on Chanel's 'new' website resulted in a confirmation that wasn't recorded as an order. I called several days later after not receiving a ship notice, but the confirmation number I received led to nowhere on their computer. I placed a second order, I'm crossing my fingers that it actually arrives! Love your blog!

  5. How in the world can is one to distinguish one color from the next. it is worse than before..Chanel needs to get their act together and get better color swatches. I won't order from the website until i know what i am looking at. "sigh"
