Guerlain Rouge G L'Extrait- Paresse (M65)

I don't know why it took me such a long time to fall in love with Paresse (M65), my first Guerlain Rouge G L'Extrait. I've been testing it since August, but might have gotten overwhelmed by the number of liquid lipsticks that came out this season, and Paresse is more pink than my usual fare (you can see how beautiful this Rouge G L'Extrait for the super-pale on Best Things In Beauty) . But eventually I've realized just how easy to wear this color can be-- it only takes a tiny bit of product to get full coverage and a very polished, very Guerlain, look. It appears and feels natural, applies smoothly and evenly directly from the wand and now, after lots of testing and comparing I can say that Guerlain's formula is the lightest and kindest to the lips.

As long as my lips are prepped and kept in a great shape I have no issue with any of the liquid lipstick I've tried so far. Still, Guerlain's formula ends up being superior because it actively nourishes the lips-- a true rarity in the velvet finish arena. Guerlain Rouge G L'Extrait doesn't outlast the other brands, but it's still a long wearing product. It's the way the lipstick feels that makes it a top product in this category. The elegant packaging is just the icing on the cake.

Bottom Line: you get what you pay for.

Guerlain Rouge G L'Extrait ($48) is available from the counters and at Sephora.

  1. I have this in the color Orgueil, which I'd call plummy. It sticks on me like glue. Maybe the darker colors hang around longer.

  2. Looks like we might give this a try. What other shades can one choose from the Guerlain Rouge G L'Extrait range? :)
