Chanel Spring 2010- Quadra Eye Shadow Kaska Beige

The Spring 2010 collections are already here (because, obviously, we haven't shopped enough in December), and to tell you the truth, I'm not amused. Too many chalky colors, too pale pinks, too much shimmer. I get it, we need a contrast to winter colors, we want sunshine, lightness and butterflies. But I can't leave the house wearing glossy shimmery peach all over my face.

The one spring collection that won me over was Chanel's. Kaska Beige eye shadow quad brings on the sun without regressing to Barbie colors. Every color is wearable, flattering and rich in an elegant and understated way. The formula works both in a dry application as well as when used with a damp brush. It's hard to see in my swatch photo, but the "wet" method yields a more shimmery, satiny finish and a more intense pigment.

The quality is what you'd expect from Chanel quads- smooth and silky application, long wear (I always use a primer).

Bottom line: An instant classic.

Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Kaska Beige ($56) and the rest of the spring 2010 collection is currently only at Saks. I bought it at my local store but it's also available online.

  1. When I first saw the Kaska Beige palette on-line, I thought it was just more of the same and that I surely had a Chanel quad in my stash which would duplicate the look. But, when I actually saw it at the counter, I knew I had to try it. As soon as the MA put it on me, I plunked down my charge card :-)
I also treated myself to Rouge Allure in Delicieuse, a beautiful shimmery apricot.

  2. Chanel Quads look so luxurious! I'd love to own one someday. :) Happy New Year!
