Sisley-Paris Phyto-Lip Shine #3 Sheer Rose

I can tell you right away that if the new Sisley-Paris Phyto-Lip Shine lipsticks weren't $50 a pop I'd have already bought seven more colors (Cherry, Plum, Toffee, Rosewood, Raspberry, Coral,  and Burgundy are all presenting a strong temptation). It's an awesome sheer and shiny lipstick with serious balmy qualities (mango and kukum butters), a high sheen glossy finish, and excellent pigmentation for such a sheer formula. Sisley Phyto-Lip Shine feel luxurious from the first swipe and only gets better as parched lips gets a good pampering that plumps them right up. The elegant packaging doesn't hurt, either, though the red velveteen pouch is completely unnecessary (it does help finding the lipstick when reaching for it in a cluttered purse or a makeup bag).

I chose Sisley Sheer Rose (#3) over the other gorgeous Phyto-Lip Shine options because it filled a vacancy in my current lip wardrobe, that of an almost nude warm rose that can be incorporated into every summer look with no planning and matching. It adds just enough color, coats the lips in a pretty shine, but doesn't call too much attention to the lips (a good thing as I've been piling up the eyeliners lately). It's a good basic color, a staple for every wardrobe, and one that I know I'll use to the last bit in the tube (I usually do with Sisley lipsticks). There's hardly any scent detectable and no taste at all. The shine is free of gritty particles and the finish is completely smooth.

Bottom Line: still coveting more.

Sisley-Paris Phyto-Lip Shine #3 Sheer Rose ($50) is available from select department stores.
