Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 Cream

Last year Lancome was pushing the Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 Cream by providing generous samples of the product at every GWP event. This strategy worked, as I had an ample amount of this Bienfait cream to test under various conditions. It made me a fan (and a bit addicted), since it's a very effective two-in-one skincare product: a really good moisturizer and a SPF 30 sunscreen.

Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30  is a thick cream that's relatively quick to absorb and works great under face primers. I find that it gives a solid and reliable protection from both sun and wind. I'm not sure how the formula has changed over the years (Lancome Bienfait series has been around in one way or another for a long time, but I never felt strongly about any of the other creams I tried from it), but this incarnation is very efficient and reliable.

The two issues with this Lancome products are that it's heavily scented and comes in a pot, making it more vulnerable to germs and various cooties. I'd bet money that Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 contains some strong preservatives, as the texture and integrity of the product never change. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it, but this stuff is a workhorse so I won't complain. Tomorrow I'll talk about an alternative from Paula's Choice, but as far as department stores product go, this is one of my favorite day creams.

Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 Cream ($45, 1.7 oz) is available at the counters and from Lancome's website.
