Butter London named this sexy nail polish after my least favorite super model of all times. seriously, Kate Moss has abused her natural beauty to the point her current work is so photoshopped I have no idea why she even bothers showing up in person- they have to recreate her face pixel by pixel anyway, so she might as well be a cartoon. Yet, she appears so smug I want to smack her with her own drug paraphernalia.
Still, Butter London's La Moss nail lacquer is still an irresistible vampy red, the kind of color that used to be considered edgy but has since become acceptable and wearable almost everywhere. The formula is a bit runny; you can see that the first coat is quite streaky. The red wine shade and the uneven finish disappear as you keep working. My second swatch shows two coats of La Moss, and you can easily stop there. To achieve the full dried blood effect and smoothness of the bottle a third coat is recommended.
Bottom Line: get the look without the torrid lifestyle.
Butter London nail polish ($14) is available from Nordstrom, Ulta and beauty.com.
