Le Metier de Beaute In the Know Bordeaux & Purple Haze Ken Downing Lip Creme Lip Glosses

Le Metier de Beaute In the Know Bordeaux and  Purple Haze lip creme glosses are constantly on my lips these days. They were created by Neiman Marcus' Ken Downing for his ongoing Bordeaux collection for Le Metier and are part of the fall/winter 2011 colors (already available online).

The Lip Creme (or Lip Cream) formula is one of my favorites. It's glossy, alright, but gives full coverage, intense pigmentation and a wonderfully luxurious feel on the lips. It's also relatively long lasting for a gloss/liquid lip product  and has a strong foody scent. Personally, I love Le Metier de Beaute's vanilla and caramel pudding scents, but keep it in mind if you're sensitive to such things.

Purple Haze is a pink mauve with a cool orientation that I love using to tone down darker lipsticks or on its own.  In the Know Bordeaux is a red-based berry and looks gorgeous both at night or for a classic and very French daytime look. The shimmer that one sees in the tube doesn't show as particles on the lips but contributes to the sexy shine of the Lip Cremes finish. It's a grownup glow, though, not excessive.

I just realized that Karla Sugar posted her swatches of these Le Metier de Beaute glosses this morning (and another limited edition/limites release color). You can also see them on Cafe Makeup and Messy Wands.

Bottom Line: I'm a believer.

Le Metier de Beaute In the Know Bordeaux & Purple Haze Ken Downing  Lip Creme Lip Glosses ($36 each) are a Neiman Marcus exclusive. Available online now. Both glosses were sent to me by the company free of charge.

  2. Love both colors, esp the In the Know Bordeaux. That looks like a(nother) perfect red for me.
I spent quite a bit of time at the LMdB counter this past weekend playing and choosing new goodies, including Peau Vierge (can I just say WOW on the PV). Will these new colors be on counter soon?? I can't wait for their Holiday colors, I bet they are amazing.
