Le Metier de Beaute Canvas And Clay Eye Shadows

Le Metier de Beaute single eye shadows come in some classic and basic colors that let you either create a nude no-makeup look or provide a background for blending in a bolder color. Canvas and Clay are such eye shadows. Both are matte, silky and smooth. Canvas is the warmer of the two, while clay has more gray in it. Le Metier matte eye shadows are wonderfully easy to blend (we all know brands that struggle with this texture). I recommend pairing them with colors like Corinthian (for a stunning neutral look), Alexandrite, or any of the blue and green eye shadows in the True Color range.

Bottom Line: I reach for them again and again (and again).

Le Metier de Beaute single eye shadows ($30 each) are available from Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and select Nordstrom locations.

  1. I'm curious, do you use a base underneath these and other LMdB eye shadows? Unless I wear a base, eye shadows move around on me but I don't think these shadows do so well on top of Too Faced or paint pots (meaning it kind of affects the finish or consistency).

  2. Evelyn, I always (ALWAYS!) use an eye primer, and often a cream shadow base for good measures. I don't like Too Faced or Paint Pots (and the last time I bought Urban Decay the formula was obviously changed for the worse). My recommendations: Kanebo SENSAI, Paula Dorf eye primer or NARS. I also like Lorac. As for cream shadows that work as a base to enhance performance and color: Bobbi Brown and Ellis Faas.

  4. Well heck, I wrote up a comment and it got eaten by the internet gremlins! lol

I crease shadows like crazy without something, so I will definitely check out your recommendations. Thank you! Plus, you reminded me that I have a Bobbi Brown cream shadow tucked in my drawer, I'll give it a try too.
