Le Metier de Beaute Uma Paro Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss

Le Metier de Beaute Uma Paro Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss is one of few color products I manage to finish every few months (and then repurchase). It's also a color that works for many women of very different skin tones. Take for example my friend Charlestongirl from Best Things In Beauty. She and I could not be more different: she's a classic blonde while I'm anything but. In most cases this means we wear opposite color families, but sometimes magic happens. Le Metier de Beaute Uma Paro gloss is one such example.

I could have sworn that Uma Paro was made for me and for my coloring. It's a deep plum with quite a bit of shimmer that I wear often and carry in my purse regularly. I consider it among my signature colors and products (see above: multiple repurchases). But apparently, Charlestongirl feels exactly the same, and when you see her swatches you'll notice how striking it looks against her pale skin. Go figure.

The formula of Le Metier de Beaute lip gloss is among my favorites: the shimmer is never gritty and doesn't look too obvious, the texture is moisturizing and very comfortable on naked lips (and of course over a good lipstick). According to LMdB website it contains Vitamin E and Lanolin, which explains their wonderful feel. The pigment is also quite intense and can be built up for an even more dramatic look (not that Uma Paro needs it, but it's a great effect in lighter shades). The gloss is scented, so take that into account if you're sensitive.

Le Metier de BeauteSheer Brilliance Lip Gloss ($32) in Uma Paro and 10 other shades is available from Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and select Nordstrom locations as well as online.

  1. Oh that's gorgeous! I'm african-american with pigmented lips...do you think it would work for me? Been wanting to try something in this line for a while. Also, what's the scent of this gloss?

  2. K., it will probably appear less intense on you, but my lips are dark for my skin and Uma Paro shows up very very well.
The scent is creamy vanilla thing which I personally love, but know it can bother some people. In any case, it vanishes within seconds.

  4. DRTVrMoi, thank you so much for saying such kind things. You made my day!

Enjoy your NYC visit. The city is especially stunning during the holiday season and the special atmosphere makes up for the cold. Have fun in the Wonderland of Bergdorf!
