Hummingbird Ranch- Propolis Skin Cream

I picked a tin of Propolis Skin Cream by Hummingbird Ranch at the farmers market in Warwick, NY. The husband and I were at the Hummingbird stand tasting and buying their raw honey (highly recommended!) when I spotted the testers of the various creams and balms. I tried some and loved the way the cream made my hands feel, so I got one little tin and went on my merry way. Little did I know that this balm was going to be one of my most used products this summer, not to mention a secret beauty weapon.

Propolis Skin Cream is more of a balm, really, and I use it for everything: hands, nails, and cuticles; skin irritation, scrapes and scratches (thank you, kittens); blisters (thank you, shoes); and most important and impressive: breakouts, redness, and other face mishaps. Propolis is considered a natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, so it should really surprise anyone. But I didn't expect to see results with four hours of application. The cream melts on skin, and while it looks a bit greasy at first and takes its time to fully absorb, I find that my skin is very happy with every drop.

The effect of this propolis cream on the cuticles seems to be very long lasting. I massage a tiny amount into the nail beds and around them every 2-3 days and that's more than enough to keep my fingers in top shape. The balm is also safe for lips and I find it just as effective.

The Propolis Skin Cream is unscented and just smells waxy. There's no taste or anything distracting.  I haven't tried the flavored lip balms or scented beeswax creams (they come in lilac, lavender, and rose fragrances), but they sound quite appealing. According to the Hummingbird Ranch website, the ingredients are propolis, grapeseed oil, almond oil, cocoa butter, and Vitamin E as a preservative.

Hummingbird Ranch- Propolis Skin Cream ($9.50) can be ordered online (absolutely no affiliation. Link provided for your convenience only). Or visit the Warwick farmers market.

  1. I need to try this asap! It sounds like a wonderful product. Ellovi Butter (and lip balm) have been my go-to balm, but I'm always looking for something for my cuticles!
