Roux Maison Essential Laundry Detergent- Ambrosia

I'm a sucker for fancy laundry products. I still mourn the demise of the exquisite Goldleaf & Hydrangea  laundry detergent by The Thymes. It's these little luxuries that make facing Mt. Washmore a lot more pleasant and almost aromatherapeutic (I said almost). That's why I was happy to try the Essential Laundry Detergent from Roux Maison.

Roux Maison products come in two scents: Ambrosia and Sweet Tea. There's also an unscented version. The one I tried, Ambrosia, is a sweet lavender scent, very pretty and pleasant. The problem is that while Roux Maison offers several types of Ambrosia laundry detergents (including a heavy-duty sports formula), there are no matching fabric softener and/or dryer sheets; thus, most of the scent is lost in the rinse cycle.

The press samples I got from Roux Maison were enough for four laundry loads, and so far so good. I can't comment on any long-term effects, but I can say that I got nice and clean laundry and the detergent dealt effectively with some feline waste management issues (you don't want to know). Had there been a full range of laundry products I'd probably buy them immediately so I can have my sheets and towels smelling of Ambrosia. As it is, I'll be following Roux Maison and wait for more news.

Roux Maison Essential Laundry Detergent ($14.99 for 16 oz bottle) is available from rouxmaison.com, as well as through Amazon. I received press samples from the company's PR. Image from an online auction.

  1. Oooohhhh! Yes, please. I am one of those who actually likes laundry if I have pretty laundry room scents and accessories on hand. I also like La Bouquetiere's Embrasse Moi scent in particular. Have you tried this line? They make several scents for laundry; both perfume-like and floral and fruity scents.
