Weekly Roundup February 4th

The best news this week came from the groundhog who promised us an early spring. It can't come soon enough. In the meantime, spring makeup collections, rich perfumes and good skin care are all we have to sustain us. That rodent better be right.

Kari from Fab Over Forty brings us news of the Le Metier de Beauté Valentine release eye shadow palette. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Charlestongirl shows us at Best Things in Beauty the latest blushes from Tarte. I don't know about you, but I can use every last bit of color on my cheeks these days.

Amy from Café Makeup received the NARS Calanque Trio. I passed on this one for various reasons but can't deny it looks pretty.

Then the NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils look absolutely gorgeous. Sabrina from The Beauty Look Book loved these so much she bought the whole collection. I only ordered the two darkest ones but can't wait to get them. Hopefully they'll be here today.

Jane from Daly Beauty is all about the hair. Her gorgeous locks are giving me hair envy, so I'm happy to read about her favorite hair products. Read why Terax Crema Conditioner has made it back to the top of her hair beauty list.

Kelly from Gouldylox Reviews shows us the latest from the new Stila Spring 2011 Collection. Spring... insert sigh.

Tired of spending the money on a manicure that doesn't last? Jennifer from BeautyXposé gives us the rundown on the latest long lasting nail craze Shellac manicures by CND.

Debbi from DivaDebbi is busy preparing for New York Fashion Week, which features the designer Fall Collections. She stepped back and showed us what we should be looking for this spring. Is there are trend in the group for you?

Laurie from Product Girl shows us Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush made with plant extracts said to make you happy. Cheaper than antidepressants, that's for sure.

Olfactorialist explores Andrea Maack, a new line of perfumes from Iceland. I think I'm interested in SMART. I have yet to smell a leather perfume I don't like.

I love hand scrubs and the smooth feeling they leave behind. Carrie from Eyeliner On A Cat brings us an interesting one by Becca & Mars. At $8 it sounds like a guilt-free treat.

Happy weekend, stay warm and dream of sunshine!

  2. I love the Nars gloss pencil in Baroque. It's just my favorite color and so easy to carry around and throw on.

  3. Dear Gaia,

I've been reading your blog with great interest for quite sometime now. You have such an elegant way of putting things, I keep coming back! I wonder if I might ask for your help - unrelated to this post, but I wasn't sure where else I might leave a general comment. I am dying to try Coromandel and Bois des Iles from the Les Exclusifs collection. Unfortunately I live in the middle of nowhere with no access to Chanel boutiques let alone Saks or Neiman (I am in a sort of exile)....I am considering ordering online but I am afraid that if I dislike the perfume they might not accept a return. Which should I try first? Bois des Iles? Coromadel? I love Shalimar (EdP and EdT) as well as Bulgari Jasmin Noir and Prada L'eau Ambree.
Totally random question, I know, but I wd love to hear your thoughts.
    Many thanks!
    Laila
