Sephora Friends, Family, Frustration

It's 4:15AM. Do you know where your Sephora shopping cart is?

Sephora's Friend&Family online sale was supposed to start tonight (20% off nearly everything with code FF2009. US only). I thought I'd beat the web crowds by shopping at 3 am. After all, I had a wishlist longer than my hair. Apparently, I wasn't the only one with the same brilliant idea, and Sephora's website crashed. It's 4:15 now, give or take a minute and the site is still down.

Saks used to have the very same problem during their F&F sales, but this season it went smoothly, as far as I could tell. Maybe they can give the people of Sephora a number to call, or something.

  1. 3 am, gaia! that is dedication.
i remember waking up super early to register online for classes in college. the scary feeling of being shut out of a class...

can you tell us what's on your wishlist, please?

  2. Actually I believe Saks had a similar issue; they sent an email extending the sale to today as an apology.

  3. I was up at 3am placing my order! I stay up every year for it - it's a tradition of sorts for me.

  4. Oh dear! I logged on for Sephora's Friends and Family event at 8:30 AM PST and had no trouble whatsoever. In fact, this very evening I received confirmation that my order had already shipped. How's that for speed? I guess it was just all you early birds :-) gumming up the works!

  5. I had issues very early (around 7:00 am), but after lunch it worked perfectly. I was surprised by the huge number of early birds!

  6. Megha, I went to college before the days of online registration, so I had to actually stand in line in some ungodly hour...

I usually stock up on some of my basics skin and body care during the F&F sale, but always add some fun items- this year it was some Dior and YSL items. Reviews coming soon...

  7. Tom, that's interesting. I didn't get the extension email (don't they love me anymore?). Then again I did my Saks F&F shopping without any issues.

  8. Joey, I'm pretty sure I did the same thing last year, too. It was in November and I was on vacation in the Pacific time zone, so it wasn't all that heroic ;)

  9. Eileen, that's great. I think I should learn from you and wait for morning, after they iron out the kinks. Then again, I was a bit worried about missing out on a limited edition Dior polish.
