Beauty Around The World

I'm feeling restless. It's something about the end of summer and a general ennui. The Blond and I have some plans next month as we will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, but for now I'm just sitting in the safety of the air conditioned house and looking at pretty things on my screen. So let's take a virtual trip around the world. Blogs, sales and things that smell good :

In Paris, Denyse of Grain de Musc offers some interesting thoughts about perfume, self-image and advertising.

London Beauty Review has me in some serious lust over the new Estee Lauder nail polish, Metallic Sage from the Modern Mercury collection.

In Denmark, Scent Less Sensibilities reviews a perfume by DSH from Colorado. The internet is a beautiful beautiful thing.

Birkin Bag Beauty is on vacation in Portugal.

In Greece, Elena of Perfume Shrine is underwhelmed  by Yves Saint-Laurent Saharienne.

Are you in Israel this week? The Atelier Fashion Store in Jaffa has a big summer sale, including Goya's summer collection. I'm quite taken with this designer (and not just because she's been a long time reader). Her clothes drape beautifully and I've seen the quality fabrics and immaculate finish. What you see above is her Zeta dress from Spring/Summer 2011. They're located in the flea market area on 18 Beit Ha'Eshel, Jaffa.

Speaking of incredible indie designers, in Vancouver, Jola V. has one more Virga bag left in stock. I bought the orange one months ago. Can't wait to see her fall/winter collection.

While we're in Vancouver, Ayala of Smelly Blog shares a recipe for an apricot and almond cake. Yum.

Still in Canada, Jane of Daly Beauty talks musks.

Back in NYC, JoeyBunny convinced me I need this Estee Lauder cream eye shadow. She didn't have to work too hard.

In the Midwest, Kari of Fabulous Over 40 is on week 3 of her home laser treatment. She has an update and a video.

Chicago resident Laurie brings us a bunch of SPF products on Product Girl. I can't stress enough how important this is. Slather them on and then reapply. Please!

In Florida, Makeup Magpie has some glorious photos of the YSL fall collection.

Up the East Coast,  Best Things In Beauty really had some of the best things this week. I'm most taken by the texture of Chanel Ombres Tissées Iridescent Effects Eyes in Beiges. Just look how gorgeous it is.

On the left coast, Cafe Makeup shows us a marvelous Dior nail polish we can no longer find. 1, 2, 3...eBay!

In North California, Karen of Makeup & Beauty Blog is also a cat lady. Look at her post about stylish cat beds. Sophie and co. are making a shopping list.

That's it for now. The travel bug might not be out of my system but at least we have some stuff to ogle.

Have a beautiful and brilliant weekend!

  3. Thanks for the heads-up about the (new to me) designer Goya-I'm going to be in Israel in less than 2 weeks & I'll be sure to check out their clothes. They look fabulous!
