Giorgio Armani Gloss d'Armani Plum 600 And 601

I didn't find a fault in Giorgio Armani's Lip shimmer lip gloss formula, but I know some considered them too sticky. Thus, the introduction of Gloss d'Armani lip glosses is another step towards lip perfection. From the sleek packaging (look at the logo on the edge of the cap) to the flawless glossy formula and rich pigments. It was love at first application.

Gloss d'Armani tubes have a doe-foot sponge applicator (Lip Shimmers come with a brush) and at least the shades I tested appear not as lacquered as the shimmers, but still glossy and saturated with  color. I got two, both in the Plum range, 600 and 601. Plum 600 is the more pink of the two and makes a perfect no effort color that goes everywhere and plays well with everything. Plum 601 is a red plum shade, a little more dramatic and something that gives the final chic touch to a simple neutral look.

Gloss d'Armani is fairly long lasting for a gloss: several hours and almost teacup resistant. I can't detect and scent or flavor and they feel so light and natural I have to try and remember what I'm wearing if I'm asked. They're the kind of lip gloss I'm tempted to get multiples in my favorite colors just so I can have some living permanently in my handbags. You can see swatches of some lighter shades on Best Things In Beauty.

Bottom Line: Red 400 and 401 are in my future.

Giorgio Armani Gloss d'Armani  ($28 each) can be found at the counters, online and from giorgioarmanibeauty-usa.com.

  1. I have 401 and love it! Great color. I don't find it sticky unlike my MAC glosses. Kind of an interesting smooth texture.

  2. Armani makes the best glosses. They seem to be creamier, and perhaps a bit thicker than most other glosses. The spongy doe foot applicator is an improvement over the brushes the old ones had. I have one of the deep plum colors (can't read the number on the bottom!), and the 400 red, that I'm crazy about.

  3. Gaia,

Now I need 600 too! I better make sure I didn't buy it already, though. I've got these new glosses stored all over my house.

  4. I absolutely need both of these. 505 has become my new favorite lip gloss, so I need to add more colors to y collection. The formula is outstanding.

  6. Gaia - Could you let me know how these compare to the Chanel Summer Plum glossimer? I believe you have this glossimer from past reviews. It is my absolute favorite, and I am sad to see it is no longer available. Thank you!!!
