Paula Dorf Day Dream Eye Shadow Glimmer

Paula Dorf eye shadows are one of those little-known secrets of makeup addicts. Gorgeous colors, some quite unique, beautiful finishes, extraordinary texture and quality- why is it then that so many of you reading this post don't own these pretties? It probably has to do with Paula Dorf's limited distribution and lack of marketing. Still, a color like Day Dream from the Eye Glimmer shadow range, a shimmery satin taupe that's very close to Le Metier de Beaute's Corinthian, needs to be seen and worn.

Day Dream is more low key than Corinthian, so I find myself mixing them together quite often. The silky texture of Paula Dorf's eye shadows makes them worthy of pairing with other LMdB colors. They work incredibly well together both in terms of texture and color. The more eye shadows I have from both lines the more complete my collection becomes (or that's just what I'm telling myself).

Applied over Paula Dorf eye makeup primer, Day Dream maintains its finish, color and coverage all day long and doesn't budge until it meets your makeup remover.

Bottom Line: a staple.

Paula Dorf Eye Glimmer shadows ($23) are available from Henri Bendel in NYC and pauladorf.com.

  1. I am not sure how you let me leave Bendel without buying this when we went last time! I must have it; this is such a gorgeous taupe with a beautiful texture. It does look gorgeous next to LMdB Corinthian!

  2. I've been following your blog for a while now and, speak of the devil, was just noticing a few days ago how close Paula Dorf's Mercury eyeshadow was to the top pan in Splendid Frost. The last time I saw PD products, they were deeply reduced in price which made me worry about their future - so I was relieved when you mentioned her brand was just undergoing a much-needed image overhaul. Whew! And thanks for a great post!

  3. Joey, next time we're at Bendel both of us are going to drop some serious cash there. There are still several colors I need.

  5. I can't believe I don't own any PD eyeshadow. I have heard great things about it, especially the color Halo. I wish I could see these in person first.

I should just bite the bullet and order some from dermstore, who has a 100% color guarantee and free shipping. :)
