Le Metier de Beaute Corinthian True Color Eye Shadow

Corinthian, an eye shadow color from Le Metier de Beaute, has earned a cult favorite status. It's something about the uniqueness of this particular shade that flatters so many, the intensity that's quite eye catching without being over the top, the famous Le Metier texture and quality... oh, and the fact it sells out quickly every time the counters get a new shipment.

Corinthian is a medium-cool taupe. The finish is high in shimmer and bolder than shades like Mulberry  (it's interesting how much warmer Mulberry appears next to Corinthian, but it pulls a lot more mauve on the eyelid) and Jojo (often paired together) , but it's still very elegant and not disco ball. Ideal placement and blending depends on your skin tone and eye lid shape, but I recommend just above the lash line and outer v. Corinthian is a neutral and works with just about everything; my favorite pairing is with navy eyeliner or Le Metier de Beaute Anamorphic Mascara in Midnight (a blackened navy). The silky texture makes blending easy even for a novice with basic tools, and the results are never disappointing.

Bottom Line: hall of fame.

Le Metier de Beaute True Color Eye Shadow in Corinthian and other shades ($30 each) is available from Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom (mostly online).

  1. Corinthian has been on wishlist forever but something always stops me from purchasing it. Last time it was Jojo & Splendid Frost. I guess I'm worried it's too cool for me, but I guess I need to try it once and for all!

  5. Thanks for the review! It really is such a unique shade. You've provided me with hope that it may still be out there. I keep hearing it's been d/c'd and when I try to find it it's always sold out.

  6. Corinthian is one of those shades that has the potential to be all things to all women. Several of my friends and I have quite different coloring and yet we all wear Corinthian. It seems to pick up and play off the surrounding skin tone to beautiful effect. My complexion is fair but warm and I have dark, moss green eyes with black lashes and brows. I love to wear Corinthian on the lid with Fig (warm plum) smoked along the lashes and into the outer > to subtly enhance the green of my eyes. Corinthian also looks beautiful with Lapis for a cooler effect. Corinthian really is an extraordinary color deserving of its legendary status.

  8. I have ordered Corinthian, waited endlessly for it (back order with no date, canceled it in frustration, and then reordered months later. As of now I have been waiting for almost two months, and I guess I'll just continue to wait and see.

Thanks for comparing it to the other two, Gaia. It looks like Corinthian will NOT disappoint the way Mulberry did.
